A Pair of Detentions Following London Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
The assault caused the partial shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area.

An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions follow a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, two women were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was among the those hurt during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been released.

Officers arrested a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several people hurt by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The assault - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not considered terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
